• Question: Hey Gabriela, it's sad you couldn't make it on the chat. I have 2 questions for you! Do you think carefully about what you eat or are you laid back? Has science changed the way you think about life? Thanks!

Hey, I am sorry I couldn’t make it that day! I was unexpectedly called away to deal with contingency measures at the university for the corona virus outbreak.

In response to your questions: I do think about what I eat and pay quite close attention to the literature on food intake because of my work but also to inform my own practices. For example, there is evidence that size of plates may have an impact on how much we eat: we are more likely to think we have eaten less when we are served food on a large plate than the same amount of food on a small plate, for e.g. I guess my work has made me more aware.

Science has changed the way I think about life. I do tend to think of the evidence- what do the numbers tell us- more than just opinions. I am not saying opinions are not important but I would like to know that they are supported by evidence.

I hope that answers your questions.
