  My research aims to improve animal breeding and understanding animal genetics better, so it probably mostly helps farmers who raise pigs or chickens and consumers of pig and chicken products. But modern animal breeding is not just about productivity: it is as important that the farm animals are healthy and fertile. So, with the help of colleagues who work directly with animal health and welfare, I hope my research makes a small contribution to making pigs and chickens healthier.
